Michelle Turner

Dr. Michelle I. Turner is an archaeologist whose work focuses on Chaco Canyon and its relationship to communities in northern New Mexico and southwest Colorado. Her work at Aztec Ruins National Monument has included archaeological testing of the Aztec North Great House, analysis of pottery and sourcing of obsidian, and a study on domesticated amaranth seeds. Michelle was previously a postdoctoral scholar at Crow Canyon Archaeological Center, analyzing materials from the Lakeview Community as part of the Northern Chaco Outliers Project. She is currently Exhibits Researcher at Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, CT and Managing Editor of the maritime studies journal Mainsheet.
