Bonnie Anderson

The National Mustang Association of Colorado

Bonnie grew up on the front range in Colorado and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry Management at Colorado State University. She has worked several jobs as a horse trainer and a wrangler. She did wildland firefighting for a couple years, then moved to Mancos in 2009 and worked for the State Forest Service doing Forest Inventory Analysis work and then transitioned to managing invasive species. She spent almost ten years running Montezuma County’s Noxious Weed Department. Currently, she has her own commercial applicator spray business for managing vegetation and makes and sells her metal art. Bonnie has adopted Marvel (the first captured Mesa Verde Mustang) and his brother Merlin. She also has two BLM mustangs that she adopted 20 years ago. Bonnie is acting as the Executive Director for the National Mustang Association of Colorado and hopes to promote humane management through fertility control and bait trapping.
