Structure Use
The study unit Structure 109 is a small roofed surface room that pre-dates the construction of Pithouse 111. The room was likely used for storage.
Dating
Abandonment
Based on the pottery found in Structure 109, this structure was not used after the Pueblo I period.
Postabandonment
Structure 109 lacked evidence of having wooden roofing, like in Structure 108. This either indicates that the wood was taken away at its decommissioning and used elsewhere, or that the wood was not burned and decomposed. The roofing sediment remained and collapsed directly onto the floor, Surface 1.
