Date Range 1 (A.D. 660–725)
Component 1 includes the late Basketmaker III occupation of the site between A.D. 660-725. This component is based on AMS dates from all three chambers of Pithouse 101-102-114, an archaeomagnetic date from the hearth of the main chamber, and the presence of Basketmaker III style pottery.
Date Range 2 (A.D. 660–1100)
Component 2 represents compressed Ancestral Pueblo use of the Mueller site from late Basketmaker III through Pueblo II. This is based on pottery in the mixed upper deposits across the site. Post-Basketmaker III pottery is likely associated with a masonry field house approximately 80 m southeast on the Shepherd site.
