Five-Day Field Archaeology Program
for School Groups

For Middle and High School Students

In this five-day, six-night program, students learn the basics of Pueblo Indian history, work with artifacts in a real archaeological laboratory, and excavate at a real archaeological site—after practicing basic field techniques in a simulated excavation exercise! Ancient lifestyles and a tour of nearby Mesa Verde National Park (a World Heritage site) round out the week.

The whole experience was really wonderful. I think the children learned a lot and had a lot of fun as well. I really appreciate everyone who works here―from the teachers to the bus driver to the cooks―attention to detail and clear enjoyment and pride in work was obvious; for us, that provides a direct impact on the experience. Marvelous!
Korinne Akridge, teacher, Riverstone Montessori, 2012

Love the hands-on; I know it takes more time and money, but well worth it!
Tim Schieferdecker, teacher, Hannibal/Holy Family schools, 2012

[Our Crow Canyon educator] did a great job providing opportunities for our kids to ask questions and think! He pushed them hard to explore, discover, and find their own answers.
Rachel Kelly, teacher, Ricks Center, 2010

I truley loved, times a billion, the classes. Don’t change them.
Jonathan, American Academy student, 2012

I got really excited when I discovered something in my archaeological unit.
Andrew, Steamboat Springs Middle School student, 2012

I learned how to work really hard and do 250 percent!
