Two-Day Archaeology Program
For School Groups

Grades 4–12

In this two-day program, students learn the basics of Pueblo Indian history and excavate at a simulated site representing one of three different time periods. They also gain a firsthand appreciation for what life was like in the Mesa Verde region hundreds of years ago as they make fiber cordage, try their hand at fire-starting (without matches!), and participate in other "ancient lifestyle" activities at our pithouse and pueblo learning centers.

Day 1

Windows or Inquiries Into the Past
Basketmaker Lifestyles

Day 2

Simulated Excavation
Pueblo Lifestyles
