What to Expect

Travel

Most travel is by Crow Canyon vehicle, but the trip also includes one four-wheel-drive excursion in vehicles provided by an independent operator. The entire trip takes place at elevations between 5000 and 7500 feet. Access to some sites requires walking distances of up to 1 mile round-trip on uneven terrain. Our pace will be leisurely, but you must be comfortable standing and walking for several hours at a time.

Accommodations

All nights are spent in comfortable hotels. Accommodations are double-occupancy; single accommodations are available for an additional fee of $465.

Weather

The climate in the northern Southwest is generally very dry and sunny. Late spring and early fall daytime temperatures can be quite variable, ranging from the 50s to the 80s; summer temperatures can reach into the 90s and occasionally exceed 100 degrees. Nighttime temperatures are cooler and generally pleasant. Although it can rain any time, afternoon thunderstorms are most common in July and August.
