Adult Research Week Excavation, Analysis, and Interpretation No experience necessary. Ages 18 and up. ![]() In 2008, Crow Canyon researchers will begin new excavations at several Pueblo sites in the Goodman Point Unit of the Hovenweep National Monument under the guidance of project director Grant Coffey and assistant directors Susan Ryan and Steve Copeland. The sites in the Goodman Point Unit are among the best preserved anywhere in the world, thanks to long-term protection by our partner, the National Park Service. Join Grant and the Crow Canyon staff in an investigation of several intriguing sites in the unit, including an ancient road, a great kiva, and both single- and multifamily stone-and-adobe dwellings. All appear to be part of a larger community centered on Goodman Point Pueblo, a village excavated by Crow Canyon from 2005 through 2007. Excavations in 2008 will build on our earlier work in the unit and are sure to reveal important new details about Pueblo life in the Goodman Point community more than 700 years ago.
