Professional Development for K-12 Educators

An NEH Summer Institute · June 24–July 14, 2012

This three-week summer institute, funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) will introduce 25 schoolteachers to the history and culture of the Pueblo Indians. The institute takes place in Cortez, Colorado, on Crow Canyon's beautiful 170-acre campus, with travel to a number of other locations in the Southwest.

Bridging Cultures examines human culture and society in the context of what is one of the oldest persistent cultural groups on the continent: the Pueblo Indians of the American Southwest. The institute will be directed by Dr. Elaine Franklin and Marjorie Connolly, who have conducted several previous institutes at Crow Canyon. The institute provides a $2,700 stipend to cover travel and expenses. Please read the Directors's letter for detailed information about the institute.
