What to Expect

Travel

All travel is by Crow Canyon vans; expect drives on rough back roads. Although this program does not involve extensive hiking, access to some sites requires hiking up to one mile roundtrip, occasionally over rocky, uneven terrain and on undeveloped trails. Most site visits require standing for 30 minutes or more at a time. Our pace is leisurely and assistance is given, but you must be in reasonably good physical condition.

Accommodations

All nights are spent in comfortable motels. Motel accommodations are double-occupancy; single accommodations are available for an additional fee of $300.

Weather

The climate in the Tucson area during the fall is generally dry and sunny. Daytime temperatures in November average in the low 70s; nighttime temperatures are cooler, in the mid- to upper 40s. Average rainfall for the month is 0.67 inches. Average November temperatures in Phoenix are slightly higher (low of 50 degrees, high of 75 degrees).
