May is officially "Archaeology Month" for a number of states here in the Southwest—and we can think of no better way to celebrate than by signing up for Crow Canyon’s Archaeology Research Program!
As a participant in the Archaeology Research Program, you’ll learn excavation techniques before working alongside Crow Canyon’s incredible group of professional archaeologists out in the field at the Haynie site—a major ancestral Pueblo site located just northeast of Cortez.
You’ll also work in our Archaeology Lab, helping to wash, identify, and analyze some of the ancient artifacts being discovered at the Haynie site. You’ll also enjoy evening talks on current topics in Southwester archaeology, and first-time participants in the program will also explore the cliff dwellings of nearby Mesa Verde National Park on a daylong guided tour (our Archaeology Program alumni spend more time in the field.)
There are several different Archaeology Research Program sessions scheduled for this summer—but spots are filling up fast! For more information, click here or call 1-800-422-8975, ext. 451 for more information.
And Happy Archaeology Month—wherever you may be!
