Transfer Instructions for Giving Stock

Appreciated securities owned for one year or more are excellent assets to give to the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center. When you make a gift of appreciated securities, you will receive a charitable tax deduction for the full fair market value of the gift at the time it is transferred into Crow Canyon’s account, and you may avoid capital gains taxes.

If you are interesting in making a gift of stock, please contact the development office by phone (970.564.4359 or 800.422.8975, ext. 159), e-mail (support@crowcanyon.org), or regular mail (see address above). We will need the following information:

  • your name and a phone number where we can reach you if we have any questions
  • the name of the stock
  • the number of shares
  • contact information for the broker or agent responsible for the transfer
  • where you would like the gift to be credited (for example, unrestricted operating support, a specific endowment fund, toward an existing pledge, etc.)
