Aztec Ruin is another Chacoan Outlier. The tour of Aztec wasn't long but it was packed with information. Florence Lister, a well-known southwestern archaeologist, gave us our tour. She shared "behind the scenes" information with us. She told us that the archaeologist who was excavating Aztec knocked down walls of the Aztec Ruin to make a garage for himself. Luckily, this is something that wouldn't happen today. At Aztec we were also able to enter a reconstructed building called a great kiva. Florence made the tour not only fun and interesting but also educational.
