During week three, we took a behind the scenes tour at the Anasazi Heritage Center in Dolores. The Heritage Center serves as the federal repository for archaeological artifacts for this region. So all the material from Crow Canyon excavations and projects are curated here - and this will eventually include all of the things that we found during HSFS!

We arrive at the Heritage Center

In the curation room there is a timeline of pottery types for the Four Corners Region

Lindsay and Rachel are listening (and learning) in the museum

Keren and Rachel practice corn grinding with a mano and metate

Lindsay learns loom weaving

Just outside the Heritage Center are the Dominguez ruins

After a brief walk we reach the Escalante site: a Chacoan outlier

Groups A & C smile at Escalante
